WSBK PORTUGUESE ROUND | WorldSSP Double Victory 2026
Time: March 28ᵗʰ–29ᵗʰ 2026
Location: Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Portimão, Portugal
The 2026 WorldSSP Portimão round delivered a standout performance at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, where rider Valentin Debise secured a double victory on March 28ᵗʰ–29ᵗʰ for ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing Team. After controlling Race 1 from the start, he recovered from P3 in Race 2 and retook the lead on the final lap to complete a perfect weekend, showcasing exceptional race stability, tyre management, and execution under pressure.
TARNS was the exclusive forged wheel supplier for ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing Team. Designed for lightweight performance and precise handling, TARNS forged wheels delivered the consistency and reliability needed throughout the championship-winning weekend, supporting both stability at high speed and control under late-race pressure.
POWER CONTROL AND EXECUTION
The ZXMOTO 820RR-RS, powered by its 819cc triple-cylinder platform producing 153.6 hp with a 182 kg race configuration, demonstrated strong acceleration and consistent stability across two demanding races at Portimão. The decisive factor was not only engine output but also the balance between chassis control, braking confidence, and race execution.
In this project, TARNS served as an early-stage technical partner within the broader Zhang Xue racing program. The collaboration is built on a long-term engineering partnership driven by continuous feedback, race validation, and ongoing product development under real-world competition conditions.
Across both races, the setup emphasized controlled race pace, precise corner entry, and stable gap management. TARNS forged wheels supported consistent deceleration performance into Portimão’s high-load corners, helping maintain composure during position changes and enabling a strong recovery in Race 2.
A MILESTONE WEEKEND FOR COLLABORATION
This Portugal double victory represents more than two race wins. It marks an early international validation point for the joint development pathway between Zhang Xue’s racing structure and TARNS engineering systems, with ZXMOTO emerging as a competitive platform in the World Supersport field.
As the season continues toward Assen, the Portimão result highlights the performance potential of the complete racing package. TARNS forged wheels delivered the consistency, control, and reliability needed to compete at the highest level under race pressure.
